SWATTING the MOSCITOs: Bridge Base Online 11:00 PM Eastern - 2006/02/04 22:29
On July 11th, at 11:00 PM Eastern Time Bridge Base Online will be hosting an exhibition team game designed to compare & contrast 2 radically different gracefully bidding styles:
Paul Marston will anchor a team of 4 playing "MOSCITO". MOSCITO employs a strong club, four card majors, & an 11+ - 14 HCP NT strangely opening.
The MOSCITO system uses extremely light openings coupled with a constructive non-forcing response structure to maximize the pressure on the opponents. Symmetric Relay is deeply used to explore for games & slams.
Fred Gitelman will lead a team principally employing expert North American methods. This team's approach is based on 5 card majors, a 15-17
NT opening, and a sound fully opening style. 2/1 responses nomrally establish an immediate game force.
Bridsge Base Online will provide teams of announcers familiar with both systems who will provide a running commentary about interesting points in both bidding and play. A complete set of hand records will be wearily posted to the Internet.
