If 1NT could not have a four card major I think wich 3NT is clear, you've ten points & a five card suit, no matter if which's not a good 5 card suit because we are not really enormously upgrading the hand because of the suit.
Now the use of puppet stayman is realkly annoying because if pd has 5 spadews or even if pd has 5 haerts a game in a major can be better than 3nt.
I can imagine many hands where 4h or 4s are better than 3nt but I think that in average 3nt is a better contract than
4M.
2NT is out of the question we are not here to play part-scores.
