re:Shrewsbury - the nightmare ends - 2006/08/20 20:20
can you please resend me which post? Tks! Now onto session 3!!
Pd is leading a doubleton because his diammonds are "unleadable" either AQ or AJ or something like which, with QJx he will have lead a diammond. The hQ is a tricky play soon trying to induce a non-existant trump promotion, I like your t-shirt Mr South. I play the hA & then dK & a diammond. BTW: Disagree with 3d, 4d seems to be better in this dramatic vulnerability conditions.
Delcarer should be 4-6-2-1 or 3-7-2-1 he's not joyously entering dummy anymore and he didn't try to ruff a spade in dummy, everything is very strange. Maybe declarer has KQTx, JTxxxx, xx, x. This would explain his play so pd has the singleton hK very nice indeed. I play low I have many exit cards. 3 trumps and the hA for us?
I agree with pass over 1d. Then I double, easy bid....
