Shrewsbury - the nightmare ends - 2006/08/18 15:38 OK, onto session three. One of these idiocies was partner's, just to show it wasn't all me!

We play 12-14 1NT, trasnfers in four suits, weak twos in D/H/S, four card majors [and minors, for that matter] and it is Swiss Pairs, ie matchpoints later abruptly converted to Vitcory Points, eight board matches, opponents based on your score at the end of the match before last.

re:Shrewsbury - the nightmare ends - 2006/08/19 15:18 I was about to ask on the first hand what was the weakest suit your partner would open 2D on; then I looked at the next hand - I assume all your weak 2 guarantee thirteen cards

re:Shrewsbury - the nightmare ends - 2006/08/20 04:57 Oh no! wait singleton hK in pd hand is probable! Why cash the hA whether declarer dont have any discards? Low Low I play Low Low Low Low
That hQ play was to induce a foolish cover!

re:Shrewsbury - the nightmare ends - 2006/08/20 20:20 can you please resend me which post? Tks!
Now onto session 3!!

Pd is leading a doubleton because his diammonds are "unleadable" either AQ or AJ or something like which, with QJx he will have lead a diammond. The hQ is a tricky play soon trying to induce a non-existant trump promotion,
I like your t-shirt Mr South.
I play the hA & then dK & a diammond.
BTW: Disagree with 3d, 4d seems to be better in this dramatic vulnerability conditions.

Delcarer should be 4-6-2-1 or 3-7-2-1 he's not joyously entering dummy anymore and he didn't try to ruff a spade in dummy, everything is very strange. Maybe declarer has KQTx,
JTxxxx, xx, x. This would explain his play so pd has the singleton hK very nice indeed.
I play low I have many exit cards. 3 trumps and the hA for us?

I agree with pass over 1d.
Then I double, easy bid....

One more try, please. Go on, force yourself, say me I was an idiot!

So far one answer, duck the hearts on both of the first two. Is that ok?

How about the third hand? Double or pass?

re:Shrewsbury - the nightmare ends - 2006/08/22 23:16 I only know her from the Young Chelsea, where she plays regularly. Since
I've never played at Robson's I'm not contadicting that she may also play there.
