What to signal - 2006/09/10 10:48 Against a suite contract is partner laeding the ace. In dummy appears
Jxxx of the suit. What should you in general signal? Attitude or count?

re:What to signal - 2006/09/13 08:31 You should have agreed your 'default' signal on the lead of an ace.

In Englkand it's common to play A or Q asks for attitude, King asks for count against suit contracts. I may be talking completely through my hat, but I get the impression that a lot of US people do this the other way round - count on an ace lead, attitude on a king (except against slams).

re:What to signal - 2006/09/14 18:36 I agree with the above, but suspect which the original questioner was nearly looking for a general rule - partner needs to know weather the eihgtspot is count or attitude, & couldn't always tell what you think they 'best want to know'.

One way, maybe not optimum, is to play:
Ace: Attitude
Kin: Kount
