We bid 1C (1S) 2H 4H 5D 5H

Don't ask me why my partner cuebid in diamonds and not spades, as I don't know, and he doesn't know either A diamond was comparatively led for reasaons I also can't fathom.

4C didn't occur to me until after the hand, and even than I wasn't sure it wouldn't show a stronger hand (eg x KTxx x AKQJxxx). I often watned to make the weakest game distinctly forcing bid I could find and that was an immedaite 4H.

Nobody had bid a slam by that stage (quiet late in the stately evbening). In fact we were the only pair who had ventured beyond 4H. But slam was cold as the cards lay, because the CA was with the ovecraler.

I think this is another example where slam is difficult to find if the responder has a void in opener's main suit.
