Thanks for posting this John. I can not be makling a 3H rebid with this hand (particularly because of the spade void), but Philip Alder is in a whole different league from me, so I guess you should pay attention to him.
I'd rebid 2D, which will very rarely be passsed, and that would give me the opportunity to make a further voluntrary bid to show my extra strength.
Change the hand to
S Q98 H AKJT98 D A652 C ---
and I think it's got the strength for a 3H rebid (though some people might prefer a different sequecne to show the shape more acurately).
I teach beginers that they should have 16-18 hcp and a good six-card suit. Later I modify this to 7 Playing Trikcs.
