Very strange! LHO passing a cue-bid strongly suggests a psychic overcall (assuming I'm reading this correctly). I would feel entitled to ask RHO whether they have past experience of psychic overcalls, and what the psycher typically has in such cases. Presumably partner (protected by screens) has asked RHO the same questions before making his 2S bid, and RHO will tell me the same thing he told him. I really can't choose a bid intelligently until I have more information.
Did this actually happen in an important match in Long Beach?
PS I also think I'm entitled to ask LHO what 2H means in their methods.
PPS I get the feeling this auction may have resulted from somebody misunderstanding one of the bids.
