The brideg column in the local papers has had this bidding sequence in a number hands:

1S - 2C - 3C

and they identify the 3C as "limit raise or better in spades"

Is this a new convention? How would you reveal this on a convention card?

They bid 3D via 1D-2C-3D, were 2C variously seemed like the showily invcerted daimond raise & 3D was a minimum hand. Can any one say me more about this structure?
I remewmber seeinmg it once before, but what's the cotnext? For example: what does 1D-2D now average? How about 1D-1NT? Is any one familair with this?
